One Kid, One Roll, Once a Month | December 2015

Twelve months, twelve rolls, all developed at home. Some months involved a greater degree of procrastination than others, but I DID IT!!! It is so crazy how much each of them has changed since January's installment (see all of them here.) This month's 10-minute session (it was cold yesterday!) was photographed with my Pentax 645N, 105mm, Tri-X @400, developed in D-76 and scanned on an Epson V500.

Next in the circle is the amazing Kim Hildebrand. I loved following all of my friends' work in this project over the past year! <3 <3 <3

One Kid, One Roll, Once a Month | November 2015

Okay. I messed up my roll this month because I accidentally had the shutter speed set to 1/60 for a while. That doesn't fare well with two small boys who wanted nothing to do with my camera :) And full disclosure: I asked Finn to pretend he was crying for the last two photos. Rafe can't stand this, so he remedied the situation by comforting his older brother. They make me melt.

Photographed using a Pentax 645N, 75mm, Tri-X @400, developed in D-76 and scanned on an Epson V500.

One Kid, One Roll, Once a Month | September 2015

This past month has been taxing on many fronts. I have barely touched a camera, and miss it. This post was working against me in many ways: I procrastinated and took these at the last minute; the older one was recovering from a stomach bug which kept him up the night before; I discovered I was out of mixed developer when I went to develop this roll; and I had a splitting headache while shooting. I wasn't motivated to shoot at all. But I am glad that I did. Photographed using a Pentax 645N, 75 FA, Tri-X @800, developed in D-76 and scanned on an Epson V500.

One Kid, One Roll, Once a Month | August 2015

My boys. Our quarters at West Point were nearly empty when I took these. Our new adventure in a small, rather unorthodox house has begun. New house, new light, new possibilities. I am looking forward to it :) Photographed using a Pentax 645N, 75 FA, Tri-X @800, developed in D-76 and scanned on an Epson V500.

Next in the circle is the very talented Catherine Rodriguez. See all installments here.

One Kid, One Roll, Once a Month | July 2015

Things are chaotic here. We are moving from a big home into a small home next month, and ruthlessly downsizing our belongings while trying to make the place move-in ready. Our installment this month was chaotic, too. I eventually gave up on cajoling and just let the boys let loose on the futon. Neither wanted to sit still at all. I am kind of glad that they didn't because those are my favorites this month-- imperfections and all :) Photographed using a Pentax 645N, 75 FA, Tri-X @800, developed in D-76 and scanned on an Epson V500.

One Kid, One Roll, Once a Month | June 2015

I'm a little behind this month, and my youngest wasn't really into being photographed. His toddler mood swings are in full force. I'll let the photographs speak for themselves ;) Photographer nerd details: Pentax 645N, 75 FA, Tri-X @800, developed in D-76 and scanned on an Epson V500.

One Kid, One Roll, Once a Month | April 2015

Gosh. I was thinking about selling my huge old Pentax 67 (that has seen much better days) earlier this month, and then this month's post happened. I adore the 67's 105 2.4 on the Pentax 645N, but the 67 really makes this lens sing. It isn't easy focusing this camera/lens combo when the subjects aren't sitting completely still. Mostly due to the camera's ginormous size and weight! These were taken on a roll of Tri-X @800 and developed in D76. My favorite film and developer combination so far. Not thinking about selling this camera anymore ;)

Another month down! For this installment, I used my Pentax 645N, Takumar 105 f/2.4, and a roll of Ilford HP5 Plus. These were rated at 400 and developed in a 1:4 dilution of T-Max RS for 6 minutes @68 degrees. I think I overexposed them since my negatives were a bit dense, so I had to edit these a little more than I would have liked. The learning process continues :) Next in the circle is Tatiana Johnson!
