It's the little things: new

Our theme this month was “new”-- a fitting topic indeed with the new bundle of joy in my life :) Rafferty is nearly two months old now.  Had he been born on his due date, he would be three weeks old tomorrow.  His early arrival is allowing us to enjoy the newborn stage--which is so fleeting--just a little longer.

I am incredibly blessed to have another beautiful little boy to nurture and love.  After one child, it still amazes that my body can provide for all of a little one's nutritional needs.  I revel at the new chub and rolls appearing on a seemingly daily basis.  Sometimes I wish that I could freeze time, but then remember that it gets better and better.  Oh how I love being a boy mama.

The wonderful Sarah Carlson is next in the circle-- she has gorgeous work and I'm looking forward to her post :)

It’s the little things: motherhood

Our theme this month was "motherhood", which was very appropriate given the lovely holiday that falls on the second Sunday of the month :) With a rambunctious, determined, bright, and silly 3 1/2-year-old and a growing baby in my belly, blessings are abundant in my life. Being a mom is the best thing ever and my heart just bursts with love during moments like this! On a sadder note, I also find this month to be a time of grief since my own mother passed away nearly a year ago now, and it was my first mother's day without her. I've been thinking about what I was doing at this time last year, oblivious that her sudden passing was around the corner. I miss her terribly. However, I am blessed to have many fond memories, and know that God had other plans for her. Goodbye is only temporary.

Allison McSorley is next in the circle, and I can't wait to see what she came up with!

It’s the Little Things: Unexpected Beauty

Excited that it's time for another installment of our Clickin Moms blog circle, "It's the Little Things"! Our theme this month is "unexpected beauty". Admittedly, I had a difficult time coming up with something to photograph this month. However, when I saw my son's discarded underwear on our staircase, the light bulb went off :) Unexpected? Yes. Beautiful? Absolutely. I thank God each day for giving me the unimaginable blessing of motherhood, and little reminders such as this remind me how fortunate I am :)

Continue through the blog circle and see how my sweet friend Celeste Pavlik views “unexpected beauty” :)
