Of light, love, and film: a blog circle project | November 2013

Our theme this month was “thankful”. Autumn is so beautiful here in the Northeast, and I am so grateful to live in such a picturesque and historic part of the country-- namely, West Point.  The West Point Cemetery is just a short stroll from my home.   I have a few friends resting here to include Colonel Dickinson, whose funeral I attended earlier this year. I am also thankful that my freedom is a result of the selfless service of many men and women who are now buried in this historic cemetery.  There are quite a few sad stories behind the tombstones here.  Some died way too young.

All photos were taken with my Mamiya c330 and a roll of Portra 400 as the sun was dipping behind the mountains to the West.

Mandy Haber is next in the circle--I am really looking forward to seeing how she interpreted the theme :)
