Of light, love, and film: a blog circle project | May 2013

Our theme for our film blog circle this month was “Sweet”. I ventured out to one of our favorite local ice cream haunts with the family, Mamiya c330, and some Fuji 400H, which I haven’t tried before. Denver and Finn enjoyed some slushies (like father, like son), while I indulged in some of the homemade hard-pack ice cream :) I just love this place!

Continue through the circle and see what sweetness my friend Tara Stallings has in store :)

It’s the little things: motherhood

Our theme this month was “motherhood”, which was very appropriate given the lovely holiday that falls on the second Sunday of the month :) With a rambunctious, determined, bright, and silly 3 1/2-year-old and a growing baby in my belly, blessings are abundant in my life. Being a mom is the best thing ever and my heart just bursts with love during moments like this!

On a sadder note, I also find this month to be a time of grief since my own mother passed away nearly a year ago now, and it was my first mother’s day without her. I’ve been thinking about what I was doing at this time last year, oblivious that her sudden passing was around the corner. I miss her terribly. However, I am blessed to have many fond memories, and know that God had other plans for her. Goodbye is only temporary.

Allison McSorley is next in the circle, and I can’t wait to see what she came up with!

parikha - Oh Megan, I know I’ve said it before, but I am so sorry you lost your mom too soon–it’s just unfair. Finn & your bean are so lucky to have you; and it looks like Finn got your radiant smile! :)05.30.2013 – 9:28 am

Allison - A beautiful portrait of the two of you. Such a great shot to capture, especially considering he’ll only be the baby for a few more months! <305.30.2013 – 9:15 am

Nina - Such a sweet picture of you and your boy. I often think about you and your mama. :::hugs:::05.29.2013 – 7:43 pm
